Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, Inc. (HabiJax) has announced it will host a home dedication ceremony for eight HabiJax homebuyers on Friday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. The dedication ceremony will take place in New Town at 1852 W. 4th St. Homebuyers and their families, volunteers, home build sponsors and the public are invited to attend. Project Storybook will provide gifts of books for the children of the new HabiJax homeowners.

“A home dedication ceremony is a special time for HabiJax to recognize each new homeowner who has worked hard to accomplish their goal of homeownership,” said Mary Kay O’Rourke, president and CEO of HabiJax. “We invite all to attend to celebrate our newest homeowners and the many dedicated volunteers and sponsors who assist in making our builds possible.”

During its 27 years of building communities with its partners, HabiJax has improved the city of Jacksonville with high-quality affordable homes and enhanced neighborhoods, providing a better quality of life for homeowners and their children in five areas of the Urban Core of Jacksonville.

To make a greater impact on the revitalization of Jacksonville neighborhoods, HabiJax has committed to the enhancement of the New Town community and is a partner in the New Town Success Zone. HabiJax committed to a $16 million capital campaign to complete more than 400 homeownership and rehabilitation projects and is on track to meet its goal.
