Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, Inc. (HabiJax), in partnership with Builders Care, will construct 12 new homes and complete five rehabilitation projects in just five days in the New Town Neighborhood as part of Home Builders Blitz 2016. The event, planned for June 6 to 10, also will mark the completion of HabiJax’s 2,000^th home, serving 2,000 families in Jacksonville through homeownership.

HabiJax is the first Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the United States to reach 2,000 families served through homeownership. The organization will celebrate this accomplishment with community leaders and stakeholders during the CEO Build Kick-Off event, from 8 to 10 a.m., on Monday, June 6.

HabiJax is in need of volunteers to assist with Home Builders Blitz 2016 before, during and after the week-long event. During the event, volunteers are needed both on the construction site and in numerous non-construction capacities. Volunteer registration is now open online and slots are filling quickly.
