Jacksonville Legacy Series Brings Iconic Leaders to Life

October 23rd, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Have you heard about the Jacksonville Legacy Series? It’s a non-profit initiative, created by Leadership Jacksonville, to document and preserve the thoughts and ideas of the region’s most prominent leaders who have positively impacted the First Coast community. Check out a sneak peek below!

Produced by Lindsey Films, the ongoing series of video conversations with Jacksonville leaders will air on WJCT. After each installment of the series premieres on WJCT, it will be available for viewing on the WJCT website, Leadership Jacksonville’s website and YouTube Channel, Schultz Center website, Jacksonville.com and the Financial News & Daily Record website for access by all of Jacksonville’s citizens.

The first video in the series, funded by Jacksonville University, features Jacksonville University’s Dr. Frances B. Kinne, the first woman president of a Florida university.  It will air Nov. 15, on WJCT. The focus of a second video in the series, to be aired at a later date, will be Alton Yates, community leader and civil rights activist. The third video, a special tribute to Frederick Schultz, was made possible by a grant from The Schultz Foundation.

The project is currently supported financially through fundraising initiatives led by Leadership Jacksonville. Ongoing funding and support will be necessary for the creation of this series to continue. Individuals, businesses and organizations in the city are encouraged to step forward to contribute to and help fund the series, which promises to be an endowment to the city, a marketing tool for the JAX Chamber and an ongoing dialogue to educate, inspire and inform generations of future city leaders.
