Jacksonville Library to Host Annual College and Career Fair for City Youth

April 22nd, 2018 · Leave a Comment

The Jacksonville Public Library will host the Find Your Future: College and Career Fair at the Main Library Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library has expanded its annual young adult job fair this year to include colleges and trade schools to create additional opportunities for youth. Also by partnering with the Mayor’s Youth at Work Partnership (formerly Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program) the library is supporting the youth of Jacksonville and expanding access to employment in targeted industries.

The library’s goal, in keeping with its mission of economic and educational success for our community, is to offer young adults ages 16 to 21 the opportunity to learn about, and apply for local jobs and/or higher education programs.

To gear up for the job fair, several library branches are offering job preparation workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, dressing for success and career resources. Find the schedule of workshops at http://bit.ly/FindFutureWorkshops.
