Jacksonville ranked second in a recent national list of “Cities Gaining the Most Residents.” The list, from Realtor.com, confirms the reasons behind Jacksonville’s attractiveness.  Florida realized three cities in the top 10: Tampa was listed at the top slot and Orlando was No. 7.

The article cites the Florida cities’ attractiveness factors as:

• Strong job creation
• Affordable housing prices
• No income tax for Florida residents

To create the ranking, Realtor.com used Census Bureau migration data from 2009 to 2013 that tracks moves in and out of metropolitan areas. The ranking also used data from Realtor.com for cross-metro searches.
