Jacksonville recognized as a Top U.S. City for Business

Business EnviromentWe all know Jacksonville is a great place for business, but our fine city recently received national recognition from Market Watch. According to the online publication, Jacksonville ranked No. 28 out of 101 “Best U.S. Cities for Business.” Click here to view the article.

The article is one of several interesting items featured in the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission’s update. Other highlights include:

Sports fans! There are still tickets available for the 2010 NCAA Basketball Tournament. Jacksonville will host the first and second rounds of the tournament on March 19 and 21. To purchase tickets, click here. There will also be a practice round on Thursday, March 18, that will be free and open to the public.

Movie fans! Several great movies have been filmed in Jacksonville. The JEDC’s Office of Film and Television recently launched a new blog site, www.filmjax.blogspot.com.  The site features news about the local film production scene. Be sure to check it out!

Visit Jacksonville has launched a new series of online tools including iJax.mobi, which was created specifically for users of mobile devises. While the Web site is aimed for city visitors, local residents will also find it useful when seeking information about local attractions. Let us know your favorites!
