JAX Chamber Hosts Inaugural #ilovejax Tour at NAS JAX and Fleet Readiness Center Southeast

July 20th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Because the #ilovejax campaign is about economic development, the JAX Chamber’s inaugural #ilovejax day included a tour of the region’s largest industrial employer, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) and Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS JAX).

NAS JAX employs 23,200 and contributes about $1.2 billion annually from payroll to our local economy. A recent recipient of the JAXUSA Partnership Industry Leadership Award, FRCSE is the largest tenant command at NAS Jacksonville and the largest industrial employer in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

With a workforce of 4,600 military, civil service and contract personnel, FRCSE provides aviation maintenance solutions in support of the warfighting customer by performing in-depth overhaul, repair and modification of aircraft, engines and aeronautical components.

“What we do here is vital to the Warfighter,” said Capt. Robert Caldwell, FRCSE commanding officer. “We maintain the most sophisticated and complex weapons delivery systems in military inventory.”

The FRCSE workforce incorporates innovative technologies to keep legacy aircraft flying until the next generation of replacement aircraft are delivered to the fleet.
