JAX Chamber Offices Will Move Temporarily

September 11th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

The JAX Chamber is on the move! Today, Chamber executives announced its staff and operations will temporarily relocate as the building undergoes extensive renovations and becomes Downtown’s New Front Door. The Chamber offices will close Nov. 1-2 and will re-open Monday, Nov. 5 at the BBVA/Compass Building off Gate Parkway.

All building offices and services along with 54 Chamber employees will temporarily move during the renovation, which is expected to take about seven months to complete. The phone number will remain (904) 366-6600. The temporary mailing address will be 10060 Skinner Lake Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246.

“Downtown revitalization is one of the important steps to recharge our region’s economy,” said JAX Chamber President Wally Lee. “We want to create an iconic presence in Downtown Jacksonville, and we hope our renovation will help inspire a renaissance in our urban core.”

Lee also thanked BBVA for its generous support of the business community and Chamber by providing a furnished, turnkey office space that can house all Chamber employees during the seven-month renovation project. The Chamber will continue to provide the same resources for Chamber members and small business owners at the temporary location.

This will be the first major renovation to the Chamber building since it opened in March of 1981 at 3 Independent Drive. Content Design Group is providing the project’s architectural design and Marquis Halback is providing the landscape design for Downtown’s New Front Door, named in reference to the building’s location as the first property impacting visitors as they enter Downtown via the Main Street Bridge and the figurative image of the Chamber as the front door of the business community.

This is exciting news! More information about the project including construction updates is available here.
