JAX Chamber will host the 4th annual Longest Table community dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Downtown Jacksonville.

The Longest Table is a free shared meal at one table that stretches hundreds of feet along Independent Drive. Longest Table was founded in November 2016 to foster conversation and build relationships across economic, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. The 2018 dinner drew a record crowd of more than 600 people from across Jacksonville for the open-air meal.

Attendees will be seated at the table by color-coded name tags, which will correspond with their zip codes. This ensures diners are sharing the meal with a cross-section of Jacksonville residents to create connections that span neighborhoods across the city.

Dozens of dignitaries, from elected officials to business and religious leaders, will attend the dinner to introduce residents to people from neighborhoods across town and provide a setting to have meaningful conversations.

The Longest Table will showcase a wealth of entertainment and culturally diverse food from Jacksonville’s own culinary community. Area businesses are contributing food for the community dinner.

The event is free to attend. Tickets to the Longest Table will be made available online at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, on Eventbrite at bit.ly/jaxlongesttable2019.
