Jewish Family and Community Services Receives High Marks During National Reaccreditation Process

September 4th, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS), a full-service social service agency serving both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities, recently received national reaccreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA), an independent, non-profit child and family service and behavioral healthcare accrediting organization. JFCS received 100 percent compliance with fundamental practice standards, a remarkable achievement, which expedited the stringent accreditation process.

“We are very pleased to announce that the reaccreditation process through the Council on Accreditation was seamless for our organization, “said JFCS Executive Director Colleen Rodriguez. “Being able to meet the high standards set by COA is a testament to the goals and achievements of JFCS. We continue to strive to be one of the most valuable social service agencies in the Jacksonville area.”

COA evaluates organizations based on best-practice standards, evaluating programs, services, management and administration. They typically look at more than 1,500 public and private organizations in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, England and the Philippines. The value and credibility of COA accreditation is formally recognized in 44 states, the District of Columbia and British Columbia.

JFCS was founded in 1917 and provides a wide variety of programs and services to children, families and seniors. The agency is committed to “helping people help themselves,” and it serves people from all walks of life. For more information about JFCS, visit www.jfcsjax.org or call (904) 448-1933.
