April 22nd, 2020 · Leave a Comment

Junior Achievement of North Florida is offering live virtual lessons in financial literacy and work readiness from now until the end of the school year to provide a way for students to spend more time planning and dreaming about their tomorrow.

Each week, JA program coordinators or virtual volunteers are live on Instagram delivering JA program lessons to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Participants can follow JA of North Florida’s Instagram page at @janorthflorida to take part in the lessons.

The lessons are held each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. Each Tuesday, JA programs are for elementary age students. Middle school programs are taught on Wednesday and the Thursday classes are intended for high school students. Throughout April, the programs are dedicated to the topic of financial literacy and the topics for the live lessons in May will focus on work readiness.

Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes. If students are unable to join for the live lesson, recordings are saved for review on JA of North Florida’s website. Visit janfl.org and click on COVID-19 next steps and online resources. The videos are also posted on JA of North Florida’s Facebook page, just click on the video section.

JA of North Florida has additional online resources for elementary, middle and high school students that can be accessed at any time which are primarily independent, interactive student activities on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. The resources are also posted under the COVID-19 next steps and online resources.
