November 13th, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Ally Financial’s Latoya Freeman from Ally Financial recently received the 2019 Junior Achievement Girl$ Legacy Award.

The award was presented at Junior Achievement of North Florida’s $mart Women Make Change event, benefitting the JA Girl$ program.

Freeman has recruited volunteers to teach JA programs and was able to recruit volunteers to teach a JA in a Day program with only a month’s notice. Those volunteers spent a full school day in a classroom teaching JA programs at a local elementary school.

Freeman has also referred partner organizations to continue the expansion of JA Girl$ and continues to advocate for Ally Financial to financially invest in the program. The organization’s financial investment during the past three years has impacted multiple JA in a Day programs, Wise Money Week and JA Girl$.

JA Girl$ is dedicated to teaching financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship within an all-girl setting. Since 2006, JA Girl$ has educated more than 20,000 girls and young women.
