Leadership Jacksonville Announces Next Episode in Legacy Series

Leadership Jacksonville has announced the next episode of its award-winning Legacy Series films will feature leadership lessons from previous episodes. This chapter showcases Dr. Frances B. Kinne, Alton W. Yates, the Honorable Frederick H. Schultz, Robert T. Shircliff, Delores Barr Weaver and the Honorable Jake Godbold and it will begin airing on WJCT-TV on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 8:30 p.m.

Produced by Lindsey Films, the seventh installment of the video series spotlights inspirational leadership lessons. The Jacksonville Legacy Series has featured these prominent area leaders: Dr. Frances Kinne of Jacksonville University; civil rights leader Alton Yates; former Mayor Jake Godbold; Bob Shircliff of St. Vincent’s HealthCare and a variety of other nonprofit volunteer leadership positions; philanthropist and champion for the disadvantaged, Delores Barr Weaver; and the late Frederick Schultz, a founder of Jacksonville Community Council Inc. and Leadership Jacksonville, and the inspiration for the series.

Leadership Jacksonville and Lindsey Films have been awarded three Telly Awards for the series. In 2013 the Legacy Series’ episode on educator Dr. Frances Kinne won a bronze Telly Award for documentary excellence while the entire series was recognized with a bronze award in the educational programming category. In 2014 the Series received a silver Telly Award for a documentary on philanthropist and executive Robert Shircliff.  The Alton Yates episode received an Emmy in the category of best interview/discussion from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Suncoast Chapter.

The Jacksonville Legacy Series is a gift from Leadership Jacksonville to the city of Jacksonville.”

The ongoing video series is broadcast on public television’s WJCT in Jacksonville and full episodes as well as unedited scenes are available for viewing on the Leadership Jacksonville website.
