Leadership Jacksonville, a program that develops youth and adult leaders in Northeast Florida, announces its Celebration 2013 fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. on April 11 at the Hyatt Regency – Jacksonville Riverfront. The annual fundraiser and dinner will honor community trustees Gary R. Chartrand, Deborah Gianoulis Heald and John S. Peyton.

Gary Chartrand is the executive chairman of Acosta, a leading full-service sales and marketing agency, providing outsourced sales, merchandising, marketing and promotional services to manufacturers in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.  He also serves on the board of directors for the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation, St. Vincent’s Hospital and CNL Bank in Jacksonville, and is chairman of the Jacksonville Public Education Fund.

Deborah Gianoulis Heald was named president and CEO of the Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership in October 2012 after serving six years on the Board of Trustees. She is best known for her 25 years anchoring Jacksonville’s number one rated news program at WJXT, Channel 4.

John Peyton was named president of GATE Petroleum Company, one of the largest privately-held companies in Florida, in January 2012 after serving two consecutive terms as Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida.  During his tenure as Mayor, he hosted the city’s first Super Bowl; implemented initiatives to advance early literacy, reduce crime and improve the health of the St. Johns River; and worked hand-in-hand with the city’s economic development arm and JAX Chamber to cultivate both domestic and international business.

In addition to recognizing the honorees, Leadership Jacksonville will also highlight students currently completing the Youth Leadership Jacksonville program and the Collegiate Leadership Experience. Youth Leadership Jacksonville annually offers training to 50 outstanding students from Baker, Clay, Duval and St. Johns county high schools. The Collegiate Leadership Experience emphasizes community trusteeship to college students from the First Coast.

Tickets to the Celebration 2013 event are $150 per person and can be purchased online at www.leadershipjax.org or by calling (904) 396-6263. A complete list of previous Leadership Jacksonville Celebration honorees can also be found on the website.
