Learn to Read Jacksonville will host “Night at the Library … Where the Characters Come to Life,” to benefit the nonprofit organization’s free adult literacy programs in the Jacksonville community. The event will be held on Saturday, July 23, beginning at 7 p.m., at Jacksonville’s Main Public Library in The Atrium & Betsy Lovett Courtyard in downtown Jacksonville.

“The support from our annual event enables Learn to Read Jacksonville to provide the life-changing gift of education to adult learners in the Jacksonville community,” said Learn to Read Executive Director Judy Bradshaw. “Although surprising to many, it is an unfortunate reality that many people in Jacksonville cannot read. Our organization is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals and families through literacy education.”

Night at the Library, also known as the elegant gala event of the summer, welcomes attendees to come dressed as their favorite book character or in cocktail/evening attire. The event will feature delicious food, libations, music by Akia Uwanda and her band, silent auction and costume contest. U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw is the honorary chairperson.

Tickets to Night at the Library are $100 per person. To purchase tickets, visit www.LearnToReadJax.org.

Community Nutcracker of Jacksonville is a Night at the Library sponsor. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, call Learn to Read Jacksonville at (904) 238-9000.
