NAIOP of Northeast Florida, the region’s commercial real estate authority and trade association, recently hosted its annual holiday party at Epping Forest Yacht Club where members enjoyed music, drinks and dinner. During the celebration, NAIOP of Northeast Florida’s 2011 President Karl Hanson reviewed the chapter’s accomplishments in 2011, including:

  • Launching a Downtown Revitalization Platform, which includes strategies and tactics to improve the urban core’s landscape, infrastructure and economy. The platform can be viewed at www.naiopnefl.com.
  • Hosting several prominent speakers to educate NAIOP and the public about issues affecting the city. Speakers included Gov. Jeb Bush, Florida’s Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope, and Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Herschel Vinyard.
  • Supporting the local nonprofit Daniel through a “Back to School Backpack and School Supply Drive” and as a major sponsor in the “2011 Jacksonville Backyard BBQ Championship.”
  • Raising more than $2,250 for Wounded Warrior Project throughout 2011.

“It was our goal in 2011 to reach out to our members, the community and local nonprofits in an effort to educate and help Northeast Florida in the best way our organization can,” said Hanson. “We look forward to continuing our outreach in 2012 and hope that our members, sponsors and the community will offer their support.”
