NAIOP of Northeast Florida announces its quarterly luncheon on April 28 at 11:30 a.m. at the Omni Hotel. The luncheon will feature Gene Zink, CEO of the real estate investment management firm Strategic Capital Partners. Zink will discuss his experiences redeveloping blighted neighborhoods through Purpose Built Communities and what those in Jacksonville can do to holistically improve neighborhoods throughout the city.

Purpose Built Communities is a nonprofit organization established in 2009 by investors Warren Buffett, Tom Cousins and Julian Robertson to catalyze and accelerate holistic community revitalization initiatives around the country. The organization has had tremendous success revitalizing neighborhoods throughout the U.S. through network member partnerships with public, for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

Zink became involved with Purpose Built Communities in 2010 when his company partnered with the nonprofit to revitalize the Indianapolis neighborhood of Avondale Meadows. Today, both organizations are working together to redevelop the Meadows into an attractive, safe, environmentally-friendly mixed-income neighborhood and to create long-term sustainability by partnering with other organizations that share in the vision to improve the community. Early registration for the luncheon is suggested and is $25 for NAIOP members and $40 for non-members and must be completed by April 25.
