NAIOP of Northeast Florida, the region’s commercial real estate authority and trade association, will host its Annual Awards & Celebration on March 7 at The Florida Theatre. The event, which features a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and dinner celebration, honors excellence in Northeast Florida’s commercial real estate industry. As a special honoree, Terry Lorince, executive director for Downtown Vision Inc. (DVI), will be presented with the Jesse B. Smith Community Service award.

The Jesse B. Smith Community Service award honors a non-real estate individual who has shown outstanding commitment and service to the office and industrial real estate industry in Northeast Florida. Smith, the award’s namesake, was an exceptional public official for Jacksonville’s economic development initiatives under four mayors. He served as director of the planning and development department of the city from 1990-1995, and was a key organizer of many of the city’s efforts to attract new businesses. Previous Jesse B. Smith award recipients include former Jacksonville Mayor Ed Austin (2009), former Jacksonville city councilman Lad Daniels (2007) and former JAXPORT CEO Rick Ferrin (2006).

“We are excited to recognize Terry Lorince as the recipient of the Jesse B. Smith award and are grateful to her for the hard work and dedication she puts forth to make downtown Jacksonville a vibrant business community,” said Traci Jenks, 2013 NAIOP of Northeast Florida Chapter president. “We will also be acknowledging an exceptional group of talented real estate professionals who deserve recognition among their peers for their work in the industry.”

Other awards to be presented include Office Broker of the Year, Industrial Broker of the Year, Emerging Professional of the Year, Office Lease of the Year, Industrial Lease of the Year, Chapter Merit awards and more.

Tickets to the event are $75 per person and include the cocktail reception, awards ceremony and dinner. VIP seating is also available for $1,000 and includes 10 tickets and special reserved seating in the theatre for the awards ceremony. Two bottles of wine and sponsorship signage are also included in the VIP package. To purchase tickets, visit www.naiopnefl.com or call Carmel Buchanan at (904) 730-8075.
