NEFBA Announces Mission Trip

July 11th, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Michael Bourré, 2011 president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) and local construction company Bourré Construction Group, is busy helping to launch an overseas mission trip. This is an opportunity for NEFBA members to visit a foreign country and work on a special project by providing volunteer building services to a deserving group or organization.

Since becoming president of NEFBA in January, Bourré has considered it one of his main goals to organize a mission trip to utilize the outstanding skills of its membership to positively enhance the lives of others.

Bourré, along with executive director of NEFBA, Daniel Davis, recently traveled to St. Thomas to survey the building and construction needs of Bluewater Bible College. The students of the college are in training to become world-wide missionaries. Currently scheduled for early October, the mission trip will focus on constructing a temporary housing facility for the college and remodeling of several existing structures. NEFBA is planning to bring 10 to 15 of Northeast Florida’s most accomplished building and contracting professionals to accomplish the task. The selection process has begun along with fundraising efforts to finance the mission.

Cash donations are currently being accepted in support of the mission trip, and those interested in donating to the cause are also encouraged to consider purchasing Home Depot gift cards. All donations can be made at the NEFBA headquarters located at 103 Century 21 Drive, Suite 100 in Jacksonville, Fla.
