Who says the homebuilding market has lost steam? If the recent Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) Installation Meeting was any indication of current and future momentum – things are looking good! Hundreds of homebuilders, developers, remodelers and other industry professionals gathered at UNF to celebrate their 67th year and induct the 2010 NEFBA and SMC Board of Directors.

Awards were presented to those who make a difference through their dedication, hard work and commitment to the industry. Here are some of the highlights:

• Glenn Layton, the 2009 NEFBA President installed the incoming 2010 NEFBA President, Andy Chambers. Chambers is president of MasterCraft Builder Group.
• The Bob Ransom SMC Chairman’s Award was presented to Jim Doyle, president of Red Dot Marketing. This award goes to the individual who demonstrates leadership, commitment and professionalism while improving the Sales and Marketing Council membership experience.
• The Arnold Tritt Achievement Award went to Chester Stokes of Stokes & Company. This award is presented to the individual who exemplifies Arnold Tritt’s passion and commitment to the Jacksonville community and its people.
• Mark Downing, 2008 NEFBA President, presented the Leadership Award to Glenn Layton. Glenn received this award for being someone who demonstrates leadership and professionalism while improving our community and quality of life.
• Jim Doyle scored another win by receiving the Fred King Associate Member of the Year Award. Roger Postlethwaite, of GreenPointe Holdings, LLC, presented the award. This award is given to the Associate member who supports the Northeast Florida Builders Association through leadership, commitment and dedication.
• Larry Murr, president of Lawrence Murr Remodeling, was the first remodeler in history to win the Builder of the Year Award. Larry received this award because of his support of NEFBA through leadership, commitment and dedication.
