Northeast Florida Builders Association Endorses Political Candidates in Advance of Primary Election on Aug. 26

The Northeast Florida Builders Association announced its political candidate endorsements that included Republican Gov. Rick Scott’s re-election bid as well as endorsement of Jeff Atwater as Florida’s returning CFO.

The association – one of the largest member organizations in the Jacksonville area – endorsed political candidates in four counties of Northeast Florida in statewide, district, county and local elections.

It backed Aaron Bean and John Thrasher for the state Senate; and Janet Adkins for the state House of Representatives.

In Duval County, it supported Lake Ray, Reggie Fullwood, Mia Jones, and Paul Renner for the state House of Representatives; and Samuel Hall and Darryl Willie for the Duval County School Board.

In St. Johns County, NEFBA endorsed Doc Renuart and Travis Hutson for the state House of Representatives; Jeb Smith and Jay Morris for county commissioner; Ken Bryan for St. Augustine mayor; and Todd Neville and Grant Misterly for the St. Augustine city commission.

In Nassau County, the association backed Stephen Kelly and Barry Holloway for the county commission.

In Clay County, it supported Travis Cummings and Charles Van Zant for the state House of Representatives; Trish Kolosky and Gavin Rollins for the county commission; and Amber Sheppard, Betsy Condon and Brian Graham for the Clay County School Board.

The primary election is Aug 26. The general election is Nov. 4.
