Northeast Florida “No on 4” Rally Thursday at the Landing

October 20th, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Northeast Florida “No on 4” supporters are planning to come out in numbers on Thursday for the “No on 4” Rally. The event, sponsored by the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jacksonville Landing.

Amendment 4 is a proposed change to the Florida constitution that will require a public vote before local governments can adopt or amend comprehensive land-use plans.

The Chamber and many other professional organizations vigorously support the “No on 4” initiative and are urging its members and the community to vote “No” on Amendment 4 on election day, Nov. 2.

“No on 4” supporters say passing Amendment 4 would mean fewer jobs, higher taxes and a weaker economy for Florida. A panel of “No on 4” leaders will be discussing Amendment 4 and the impact it would have if passed. Signs and stickers will be available at the rally along with free beer, free wings from Hooters and Chicago Pizza and a live band performing throughout the event.

This is a great way to become familiar with the issues before election day.  More information about Amendment 4 is also available here.
