Ocean’s Edge Condominiums Sees Influx of Multi-Generational Vacation Home Buyers

December 9th, 2010 · Leave a Comment

A recent phenomenon of multiple generations owning a residence as a shared vacation home is changing the way people define what they can afford. The trend is referred to as multi-generational vacation homes and Ocean’s Edge, the coastal community located in south Jacksonville Beach, has seen an influx of family members purchasing homes together.

There are many reasons to consider sharing a family vacation home, said Vikki Robbins, owner of Pace Builder Services, the sales and marketing firm at Ocean’s Edge.  A multi-generational vacation home allows multiple buyers to pool financial resources together to afford a vacation home that otherwise would not be an  option on their own. For many families, it is an ideal way to have a central location to gather during holiday breaks and a shared space where extended families can take turns using the space for separate vacations.

Ocean’s Edge homeowner, Mary Ann Pease, owns her Ocean’s Edge condominium home along with her husband, two siblings and their mother.  The respective family members own primary residences in Georgia.

“With family and friends in the area, we wanted to own a home in Jacksonville Beach. Sharing the home with our extended family makes it possible for everyone to vacation on their own schedules. Ocean’s Edge has turned out to be perfect for our family. The beach access can’t be beat and we can hop on our bikes to get wherever we want to go.”

Pease also points to a quiet, serene setting, great neighbors and the amazing community amenities as supporting their decision to purchase at Ocean’s Edge. The modern amenities and community activities at Ocean’s Edge rival those of a resort. Residents can take full advantage of the neighborhood’s beautiful clubhouse, often the site of barbeques and community gatherings, something the Pease family enjoys during visits. The community also has a state-of-the-art fitness center, resort-style pool and lagoon with cabanas and sundeck, lake with observation deck and private putting green.

According to Robbins, the multi-generational vacation-home concept is here to stay.

“With our Fannie Mae project approval, we can offer incredible financing options for vacation-home buyers. Families can own a piece of the coastal lifestyle and create a family vacation destination for use by generations to come.”

Ocean’s Edge is located at 107 25th Ave. South in Jacksonville Beach. For additional information call (904) 247-9052 or visit www.OceansEdgeLiving.com.
