Ocean’s Edge at Jacksonville Beach Hosts Spring Barbecue and Rubber Ducky Race

Excitement filled the air when the condominium community of Ocean’s Edge in south Jacksonville Beach hosted its annual Rubber Ducky Race and spring barbecue. More than 75 residents and their guests came out to cheer on the little yellow rubber ducks as they floated from the community’s cascading waterfall downstream and under three bridges to the finish line at the community’s spring-fed lagoon.

Contestants were armed with squirt guns to help prompt their ducks along the course. Everyone was a winner and numerous prizes were awarded. Ocean’s Edge resident George Crump earned bragging rights and a gift certificate to Bonefish Grill as the grand prize winner. The festivities also featured a barbecue lunch catered by Bono’s.

“This was our second year hosting this fun event for Ocean’s Edge residents. There is a wonderful rock creek which flows right through the center of the property. It is fed by a spring so it is crystal clear and has a strong current. The creek prompted the Rubber Ducky races last year and it has been the talk of our residents ever since. We just had to do it again,” said Victoria (Vikki) Robbins of Victoria Robbins Realty, Inc., the real estate company responsible for sales at Ocean’s Edge. “Ocean’s Edge is a community of fun-loving people who enjoy living the beaches lifestyle. It would be hard to find a more welcoming place to live.”

In addition to offering a warm and friendly setting, Ocean’s Edge is one of the best condominium values in Northeast Florida. The community has the distinction of earning a 48 percent share of the Jacksonville area beaches market (which includes Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach) for condominiums priced $160,000 to $260,000, according to Northeast Florida Multiple Listing Services (MLS) data.
