Operation Shower Will Host “A Celebration Fore Baby” at THE PLAYERS

April 18th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

They may not be golfers, but 41 local military moms-to-be will enjoy an experience they will never “fore-get” during the PGA TOUR’s 2012 THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass.  The women, whose spouses are deployed members of the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard, will be honored during an Operation Shower group baby shower presented by Birdies for the Brave and the PGA TOUR from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Sunday, May 6,  in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost located on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

During the “Celebration Fore Baby”-themed event, the moms will enjoy lunch and an opportunity to share stories and gain comfort from other military moms-to-be in the same situation, as well as the highlight of the event – the presentation of Operation Shower’s signature “Shower in a Box.” Each mom will receive an array of unique, high-quality products and gift items for mothers and babies that have been donated by numerous companies, including supporting sponsor Petunia Pickle Bottom.  From onesies and baby bottles to clothing, crib bedding, diaper bags and toys, the gifts will go a long way toward raising the spirits of the moms-to-be, many who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a baby shower.

The Operation Shower event is just one of many military and community outreach activities that will be held before and during THE PLAYERS, May 7-13.  For more information, visit www.pgatour.com/theplayers.
