According to Florida Realtors, Jacksonville’s single-family home sales were up 21 percent from 2008 to 2009, and condo sales increased by 38 percent. Throughout the state, existing home sales rose 31 percent and condo sales increased by 47 percent comparing 2008 stats to those of 2009.

Industry leaders are finding that the market is continuing the stabilize and will be key to the economic recovery. Seventeen of the state’s 20 metropolitan areas reported increased existing home sales and 18 have reported higher condo sales for more than a year. On a national level, home sales in 2009 rose for the first time in 4 years – up 4.9 percent.
