Parenting Magazine Ranks Jacksonville Top City for Recreation

August 12th, 2010 · Leave a Comment

There is great news for families that love outdoor recreation. Jacksonville ranks at the top of Parenting Magazine’s list of Ten Best Cities for Recreation!

Parenting Magazine honored Jacksonville for having more than 75,000 acres of park space, including pools, gardens, beaches, playgrounds, sporting facilities and lakes. The city of Jacksonville has 390 parks and more than 40 golf courses within city limits. Residents also enjoy a moderate climate year-round in which to enjoy the outdoor activities.

And while Northeast Florida is an outstanding business destination, Jacksonville is also a vibrant city with many offerings for recreation and relaxation. Here is what Wally Lee, president of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, had to say about the ranking:

“Jacksonville is a great place to live, work and play. Our residents enjoy hundreds of parks, miles of beaches, excellent golf courses and outstanding sporting events including the Tournament Players Championship and the Jacksonville Jaguars.”
