PGA TOUR, its tournaments surpass $3 billion in all-time charitable giving

PGA TOUR officials recently announced that the PGA TOUR and its tournaments have surpassed $3 billion in all-time charitable giving, just six years after surpassing $2 billion in 2014. This total includes a record $204.3 million generated in 2019, bringing the all-time total to $3.05 billion.

THE PLAYERS Championship, as the PGA TOUR’s flagship event, is a leader in charitable giving and impact, having generated more than $100 million for over 300 Northeast Florida charities since the tournament’s inception in 1974, including a record $9.25 million from the 2019 tournament alone.

One of these Community Champions is Dreams Come True, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses. Many may not realize that a dream fulfilled at THE PLAYERS more than 35 years ago helped start this organization that has now fulfilled the dreams of more than 4,000 children.

2019 marked Dreams Come True’s 35th birthday, and in honor of this special milestone, THE PLAYERS surprised Dreams Come True with a $60,000 donation to fund “A Year of Dreams.” Twelve Northeast Florida children will have their dreams granted – and Atlantic Coast High School student and Bolles swimmer Rian Covington was the first.
