THE PLAYERS Championship on Tuesday was full of families who gathered for the PwC First Tee Challenge – a replica of the famed 17th Hole where First Tee participants took part in a competition by taking shots at the Island Green.

The event was emceed by The Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman and featured guest speakers The First Tee CEO Joe Louis Barrow Jr. and PwC Vice Chairman of Client Services Jay Henderson, as well as special appearances from PGA Golfers Rory Sabbatini and Scott Langley.

Sabbatini and Langley, both graduates of The First Tee, shared with the participants their own experience with the program and the lessons learned. First Tee participant Stephanie Pulido, who is currently in the program’s Birdie Level in St. John’s County, also spoke about her experience thus far and the positive impact it has made in her life.

The First Tee Executive Director for Jacksonville Pepper Peete and The First Tee St. John’s County Executive Director Jeff Willoughby presented all special guests with a TPC Sawgrass flag that was signed by all The First Tee participants.
