Majestic oak trees provide shade and ambience to the exterior of The John Gorrie a condominium

The halls of the historic former John Gorrie Junior High School are once again buzzing with the sounds of voices and footsteps. However, the sounds of eager students have been replaced with excited homebuyers as they tour unique homes that have replaced the classrooms. Since opening for sales in July, The John Gorrie a condominium, has experienced tremendous success. Several new homeowners have begun moving into the building, with many more to come!

Selena Seckinger, the first owner and resident of The John Gorrie a condominium, recently moved into her new home in the school’s annex building, which previously housed the cafeteria and shop and trade classes. Seckinger had been in the market for a new home for several months when her real estate agent, Allison Steilberg of Prudential Network Realty, informed her of a condominium project nearing completion that she might be interested in.

Special care was taken to preserve the original architecture of the building, including the detailed work seen above the main entrance to The John Gorrie a condominium.

Upon visiting, Seckinger fell in love with the The John Gorrie’s location, history, warmth, and blend of traditional and non-traditional elements. Now settled, Seckinger enjoys the view from her new home, which includes both the architecture and beauty of the main building along with oak-shaded lawns. She also loves that her floor plan provides a large living space perfect for entertaining family and friends.
