RiverTown Announces Groundbreaking for Riverfront Park and Playground

June 22nd, 2011 · Leave a Comment

RiverTown, a 4,170-acre master-planned community located along more than three miles of the St. Johns River, has broken ground and started construction on its Riverfront Park and central community playground. The plans were designed by design firm Ervin Lovett Miller. The playground and Phase I of Riverfront Park are slated for completion this fall.

Jogging paths and walking trails through more than 55 natural acres, a community dock, fishing pier and waterfront overlook areas are all signature elements that residents will enjoy in Riverfront Park. Day boat slips, kayaking, canoe launches and a restroom pavilion are also planned.

“The groundbreaking of our Riverfront Park and community playground are important milestones for the RiverTown community,” said Christian Kuhn, Director of Development for RiverTown. “We are excited that residents will soon have defined access to the St. Johns River frontage with waterfront amenities, which makes RiverTown such a unique place to live.”

The community playground is located at the center of the community and will include many fun features such as a tot lot, slides, swing, jungle gym equipment, play field and mail kiosk.

“The playground and park has been designed for recreation, as well as to promote interaction among neighbors in RiverTown,” said Kuhn. “They will be welcome additions to the community’s family-friendly environment.”
