Re-invent, re-imagine and re-design.

Those are the top home furnishing trends that were featured at the Spring High Point Market in High Point, N.C.  Jacksonville interior designer Judith Sisler Johnston of Sisler Johnston Interior Design provided this perspective in a recently issued company press release:

“Classic designs find new life with a fresh perspective. The top design trends have been brought up-to-date by new colors, streamlined silhouettes and bold inventiveness.”

The following are some of the top trends from the Spring High Point Market.

Case goods – Table tops and case pieces are highlighted by wood finishes while subtle carved elements make a comeback and add a sense of style to many traditional collections.

Accent Furniture – The latest trend in accent pieces is lighter finishes, including metal, aluminum, weathered gray and white wood.

Home Office – The trend is on functional, small-scale furnishings. Home office groups combine multiple elements designed for smaller spaces.

Casual Dining – The casual dining spotlight is on lighter finishes and wood tones, such as oak, and distressed, authentic-looking furnishings.

Upholstery – Bigger is better as track arms have expanded to twice the standard size. The use of bold color continues with a wave of bright and fun colors.

A Final Word – While new trends can add a fresh look, Sisler Johnston says it is always important to create an environment that is stylish, comfortable and functional.
