Sisler Johnston Redesigns Leeward Manor at Fleet Landing

March 17th, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Sisler Johnston Interior Design recently completed the redesign of Leeward Manor, the assisted living center at the Fleet Landing retirement community in Atlantic Beach. Sisler Johnston’s experience in the senior living field made it possible to create a professional, competitive design within budget limitations by implementing cost-effective solutions. After deciding on the areas to be refreshed, the next step was to assess the major design elements in the floor-to-ceiling makeover including new carpeting, wallcoverings, ceiling tiles, including decorative, acoustical and wood panel styles, customized window treatments, accent paints, furnishings and lighting.

Sisler Johnston selected a rich Mediterranean color palette of citrine, honey and ryegrass and used the ryegrass green paint in bold, expressive color accents as an inexpensive means of adding interest to walls and ceiling elements.  Custom commercial fabrics and furnishings were used to emulate materials and finishes chosen in upscale homes, fine hotels and home fashion magazines. To give Leeward Manor more of a “residential” livability, Sisler Johnston worked with crossover suppliers who manufacture commercial quality furnishings in the hospitality industry and negotiated competitive pricing on behalf of Fleet Landing.  Doing so enabled greater value, quality and style and resulted in stretching the budget to include additional areas within Leeward Manor.
