Sizzle Into Summertime with Bold City Brewery at Art Walk

HIGHLIGHTS:
Headquarters at Hemming Park – Soak up the beginning of summer with our Second Annual Bold City Brewery’s release party for its summer seasonal, Big John’s Apricot Wheat Ale. Enjoy live music by Firewater Tent Revival on the main stage, food from Humble Pie, a mechanical surfboard and The Stonewall Drag Show in Hemming Café. Sponsored by The Art Institute of Jacksonville, visit Laura Street for hair and makeup tutorials by Daniel James Salon, live Xpogo demonstrations, giant Jenga and beer pong, and more. As always, browse dozens of local artists showcasing their latest works.

Join the Cultural Council in Hemming Park as they mark the completion of the current cycle of Florida Blue SPARK Grants. Celebrate with a special toast at 6:30 p.m. with the grant recipients, followed by the unveiling of grantee RouxArt’s “Street Pipes Mobile Mosaics” across from City Hall.

  • Main Street Park – Presented by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, explore Sculpture Walk Jacksonville, funded by the Florida Blue SPARK Grant Program.
  • Super Food & Brew – New Location- Presents a new food menu, craft beers specials and a delectable wine list.
  • Mavericks at The Landing – Presents Mainstage, Jacksonville’s premier electronic dance music venue with world-renowned DJs playing every week.
  • Chamblin’s Uptown & Café – Hosts artwork by Gavin Yates and more. Plus, enjoy live music by Andy Ward King.
  • Dos Gatos – Visit Downtown’s purveyor of fine spirits, vintage cocktails and new classics. Open until 2 a.m.
  • Florida Theatre – Learn about this iconic landmark with backstage tours at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Cash bar.
  • Fionn MacCool’s Irish Restaurant and Pub – Enjoy Whiskey Wednesdays with live music by Spade McQuade from 6 to 8 p.m. Alliance members enjoy a free appetizer with their Discover Downtown card.
  • Olio – Open 5 to 10 p.m., check out mixed-media artwork by Bronwen Chandler, Lisa Page and Glass Wonderland while you indulge in food and drink specials.
  • Zodiac Bar & Grill – Savor food and drink specials throughout the evening, also featuring belly-dancing performances.
  • 44 Monroe Art Studio & Gallery – Presents guest artist Leilani Leo’s Marilyn Monroe art exhibit, “Some Like it Hot!,” and a collection of works by owner/operator Jami Childers.

PARKING
Free street parking after 6 p.m. The Downtown Garage at Adams and Clay streets offers free, covered parking Art Walk night, courtesy of Elite Parking. (Enter on Clay Street.) Or park and then ride the Skyway, now running until 9:30 p.m. Art Walk nights.
