May 3rd, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council (SPAR) has announced the 41st annual Historic Springfield Tour of Homes and Gardens, which will be taking place on May 18 and 19, from noon to 5 pm.

During the two-day event, attendees will find eight properties to tour: five private residences decorated with a mix of modern and vintage styling (with construction dates ranging from 1887 to 2018) and three beautiful gardens. In addition, Sesquicentennial Park will be home to a vendor market taking place during both days of the Home Tour.

“We’re proud to continue the long-standing Springfield tradition of presenting the Tour of Homes and Gardens,” Kelly Rich, SPAR executive director said. “With an array of houses spanning from less than a year to over 130 years of age, visitors will be able to see the diversity of our neighborhood that can only be experienced via this annual event. We invite the Jacksonville community to come out and experience what makes Springfield a fantastic place to live.”

The 41st annual Historic Springfield Tour of Homes and Gardens is presented by Southern Moss Realty Company.

The Tour of Homes and Gardens benefits Springfield Preservation & Revitalization Council (SPAR), the 501c3 grassroots organization dedicated to preserving the historic character, facilitating investment, and building community in the Springfield Historic District. The Tour of Homes and Gardens has showcased the unique character of the community for 41 years, and is a major fundraiser for programming and services provided by SPAR Council.
