Audibelle

Teresa Meares knows the clothing business. She has owned and operated a fast-growing uniform and tactical equipment company for the last decade. When Meares and her 13-year-old daughter first got the idea for a clothing line, she knew she had the background and experience necessary to make it successful. Audibelle Clothing, a line designed for girls and young women, is already making waves with shoppers who are seeking innovative and upbeat casual clothing and accessories.

“My daughter and I are always looking for clothes for her that are fun and trendy but that also instill confidence through positive messaging,” said Meares. “We did extensive research and discovered that there is significant room in this particular market. It is truly exciting to know that Audibelle will give girls additional affordable options.”

Meares began her career in law enforcement, retiring as a patrol sergeant from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office before founding DGG Tactical & Uniform Supply. She is also the author of a children’s series on safety titled, “Think Safe 2 Be Safe.”

Meares is a past president of the Women Business Owners of North Florida and the current chair of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Her work with women in business, as well as her own experience with her daughter, inspired the Audibelle line.

“I have always felt a strong sense of wanting to serve and help, and in my work with NAWBO, I was struck by the lack of confidence that some women have,” said Meares. “Feeling positive and powerful is important for women – and it can start early, with something as simple as how young girls dress and present themselves to others.”

In addition to launching Audibelle, Meares is playing an instrumental role in helping develop the NAWBO Institute, the education arm of NAWBO, which will provide skills and experience for women to help grow their businesses. Ten percent of the net proceeds from Audibelle with be donated to the NAWBO Institute to support this mission.

The Audibelle line is beginning with the production of hoodies, tanks, tops, t-shirts, loungewear and accessories such as soft backpacks. The company’s mission is to inspire girls, through the power of fashion, to have fun, be themselves, stay hopeful and positive, and be confident in their ability to do anything they put their minds to.
