Summer is well under way in the Jacksonville area, so here are some fun and healthy events for kids of all ages…

June 21-23 and June 29 – July 3; the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville; Jacksonville Suns Baseball

June 21, 3 – 9 pm; Hemming Plaza; Skate Boarding Day

Walk – or roll – your way through this second-ever event celebrating all things skating, complete with a mini-ramp, best-trick contests, live music, sponsor booths and much more.   http://www.goskateboardingday.org/events/38359/

June 21-23; Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront; Ancient City Con

Northeast Florida’s multigenre fandom convention returns with even more out-of-this-world events, all designed to celebrate “geek niche” genres with film screenings, live music, industry panels, special guests and social games. June 22; 9 am at Metropolitan Park; The Super Hero 5K Run/Walk

Channel your inner super hero, lace up your super shoes, and grab your cape, friends, family and colleagues to fly your way around this 5K event.


June 21; 1 pm ; Main Library; 8th Annual Teen Battle of the Bands

Local teen bands looking for their big break will compete for bragging rights – as well as great prizes – at this annual music competition. 


June 22; 7 pm; Veterans Memorial Arena; Jacksonville Sharks Football

Jacksonville Sharks vs. Cleveland GladiatorsTake a bite out of your weekend with Jacksonville’s indoor football league.
