The Lot Parties at THE PLAYERS Championship

April 4th, 2013 · Leave a Comment

In 2012, THE PLAYERS unveiled “The Lot,” a hospitality structure located outside the Nicklaus Gate in General Parking off of CR210, which hosts parties following the end of play. Wednesday through Saturday of tournament week, different organizations are hosting parties and functions at The Lot to extend the fun for fans, and, in the process, raise money for great local causes. Entrance to these events requires an additional ticket, separate from spectator tickets to the golf tournament, with all proceeds going to the charitable organization hosting the party.

Wednesday, May 8 – LIVE at the Lot hosted by the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, 5-10 p.m.
The Monique Burr Foundation for Children will host LIVE at The Lot with some of the finest food throughout Jacksonville, including The Good Food Company, Poe’s Tavern, Roy’s Restaurant and Sun Dog Brewing Co., drinks and entertainment. Headlining the show will be Tishamingo, a southern-rock, blues band. The opening act is Moors & McCumber. Kort McCumber is the nephew of Mark McCumber, past champion of THE PLAYERS. All net proceeds benefit the Monique Burr Foundation for Children to provide Speak Up Be Safe – a national bullying and child abuse prevention program being implemented in Florida elementary schools. Fans can purchase tickets at $100. For tickets or more information, visit www.LIVEatTheLotTPC.com.

Thursday, May 9 – The After Partee hosted by YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, 5:30-10 p.m.
YMCA of Florida’s First Coast will host The After Partee with food, drinks and a live concert from Grammy-nominated Jo Dee Messina, best known for her hits “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” “Bye Bye” “I’m Alright” and many other country music chart toppers. Proceeds from the event will enable the YMCA to send children from underserved communities to summer camps across the First Coast to help prevent summer learning loss. General admission tickets to the party are $50 and VIP tickets are $100. The VIP Plus ticket, which includes a good-for-any-one-day ticket to THE PLAYERS, are $150. Ticket prices increase after April 9. To purchase tickets, visit www.firstcoastymca.org or visit your local First Coast YMCA.

Friday, May 10 – THE CUT hosted by the Boselli Foundation, 6-11 p.m.
The Boselli Foundation will host the third-annual THE CUT with delicious food from local favorite Bono’s BBQ, drinks and live entertainment by country star Darryl Worley. Worley has had three number-one songs (Have You Forgotten, I Miss My Friend, and Awful, Beautiful Life) and nine more top-40 hits to his credit. Founded by former All Pro Jaguars player Tony Boselli, the Boselli Foundation provides educational and character development programs to at-risk children in Jacksonville. From after-school programs to cultural enrichment activities to summer camp, the Boselli Foundation helps deserving children become champions at home, at school and in the community. Tickets for THE CUT are now on sale, with discounted general admission tickets available for $60 and all-access/VIP tickets for $200. For more information, visit www.thecutparty.com.

Saturday, May 11 – Fancy Pants Party hosted by Blessings in a Backpack, 6-11 p.m.
Blessings in a Backpack will host the Fancy Pants Party with food by Hurricane Grill and Wings, drinks and entertainment by Yacht Rock from Atlanta, bringing you the smoothest songs of the 80s. The event will also feature a “Best Fancy Pants” contest, a photo booth courtesy of PRI and raffles. Funds raised from Fancy Pants will go directly to the Duval County chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, which provides children on the federal free and reduced lunch program a backpack full of food each weekend during the school year so they are assured nourishment when they’re not in class.
