May 8th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Capitalizing on a successful (and sold out) inaugural Executive Women’s Day in 2011, THE PLAYERS once again hosted 280 women business leaders and decision makers during this year’s expanded Executive Women’s Day on Monday, May 7, at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse and at venues throughout the Stadium Course. This year’s event sold out in two weeks, more than two months ahead of the tournament.

Executive Women’s Day focused on success stories from women who’ve built profitable businesses, become corporate leaders and utilized mentoring and networking to develop strong business and social relationships. The day began with “The Power Breakfast,”  a panel discussion featuring four panelists:

  • Carla Harris, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley
  • Dr. Pamela Rama, Chief of Staff, Baptist Medical Center Beaches
  • Constance Howlette, Vice President of Packaging Operations, The Estée Lauder Companies
  • Jennifer Marko, Entrepreneur

Breakfast was followed by “Take the Lead Breakout Sessions” that centered on leadership skills, led by Carla Harris, and women’s health, led by Dr. Pamela Rama. “The Bottom Line” luncheon featured keynote speaker Michelle Peluso, global consumer chief Internet and marketing officer of Citigroup and past-CEO of Travelocity. This informative and fun day ended with “Wine Down and Network Up,” where attendees were encouraged to make new friends and business contacts that will last beyond the one-day event.

Executive Women’s Day raised funds for the Junior Achievement of North Florida’s JAGirl$ program, which is designed to help young girls learn about finances and economics to help them compete in the workplace.
