THE PLAYERS Championship Announces Enhanced Trafffic Flow and Parking for 2013 Tournament

March 21st, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Traffic flow and parking have been greatly enhanced for THE PLAYERS Championship to provide a better fan experience.

As in previous years, fans can park for free in the general parking lot and no special parking pass is required Monday through Wednesday of tournament week.

New this year, fans with four or more guests in a vehicle can park for free Thursday through Sunday with the “Four for Free” parking pass. Beginning in March, fans can go online to THE PLAYERS website to download the parking pass, which allows free parking in the general lot off of CR210. A new pass must be downloaded and printed for each day, but there is no limit to the number of days guests can park for free.

Not traveling with four or more, find some place to meet up with friends!  If you still can’t find a way to carpool, general parking passes are $25 per day and preferred parking near the Nicklaus Gate is $45 per day if purchased in advance at Publix or at PGATOUR.com/THEPLAYERS.

NOTE: Those that show up without a Four for Free pass (or don’t have 4+ people in their vehicle) or without a parking pass will be charged $40.

Tournament officials are also encouraging fans to use a new preferred route to the event through Nocatee, which approaches the parking area from the south and avoids traffic on JTB/A1A.

Directions to THE PLAYERS from Nocatee: Take US 1 (Philips Highway) to Nocatee Parkway East. Nocatee Parkway will become CR 210. Continue to follow for 7.8 miles, crossing over the Intracoastal Bridge. When you come to the traffic roundabout, take the second exit – Palm Valley Road. Continue to follow Palm Valley Road for 3.3 miles to THE PLAYERS parking on the left.

Other enhancements include widening the entry to the main parking lot, more processing lanes, better signage, enhanced coordination between St. Johns County, SJCSO, JSO and Florida Highway Patrol and improved traffic light management on A1A.

THE PLAYERS is also streamlining the process for taking a cab to and from the tournament, featuring a partnership with a local taxi company and designated taxi stand areas located at Shuttle Row and near the Couples Gate off of ATP TOUR Boulevard.

Fans are also encouraged to pedal to THE PLAYERS. The National MS Society will once again offer Bike Valet services during competition rounds, Thursday-Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. until end of play. Spectators can ride their bikes to the Couples Gate off of ATP Blvd. or to the Love III Gate located inside the Sawgrass Gates. MS Society volunteers will secure and monitor the bikes. Donations to the MS Society are appreciated.
