The RiverTown community, St. Johns County’s only riverfront master-planned community, won five Aurora Awards including two Grand Aurora Awards representing the top award in its category.

The RiverTown community received two Grand Aurora Awards; one for its recreational amenity facility – the Tennis and Fitness Center – and one for the community’s landscape and pool design. The RiverTown community also received an Aurora Award for its community clubhouse recreational facility, The RiverHouse. The Aurora Awards is a design competition of the Southeast Building Conference recognizing building design excellence and honoring projects in 12 southeastern states and the Caribbean.

“The RiverTown community’s design blends environmental and community-building principles to strengthen a sense of community and contribute to the residents’ quality of life by encouraging opportunities to connect with nature and with their neighbors,” said RiverTown Director of Development Christian Kuhn. “I am pleased the RiverTown community has been recognized for its outstanding amenity design in several categories. These awards and the appeal of our community amenities are being substantiated by the many new homeowners moving to the RiverTown community.”

The community’s amenity center is the heart of the community. The Fitness Center, located across a central courtyard lawn, offers individual and group fitness areas, men and women’s locker rooms, a social director’s office and access to the pool decks. Surrounded by lush native plants and vegetation, the expansive resort-style pool area features a six-lane, junior Olympic lap adult pool and zero-entry family splash pool with a towering corkscrew slide and spray zones. The poolside veranda provides a shaded area with an outdoor fireplace and patio seating. The RiverTown community has three Har-Tru tennis courts, including a stadium court with terraced seating, available for daily play.

The RiverHouse acts as the community’s social club, providing ample space for social gatherings and events. The interior offers a well-appointed club room and conference room and a caterer’s kitchen. Deep wrap-around porches of the RiverHouse feature relaxed seating and spectacular views of the river.

The community’s Riverfront Park, which encompasses nearly 58 acres of natural areas and canopy trees, includes a fishing pier, event lawn, waterfront overlook areas, and walking and jogging trails. A pedestrian-friendly community that embraces the outdoors and its most valuable asset, the St. Johns River, the RiverTown community’s design has been influenced by Southern neighborhoods of years past. In addition to numerous amenities, homebuyers are drawn to the community’s welcoming family-oriented atmosphere and access to top-rated schools.
