Two Northeast Florida Communities Named the Best Places to Call Home

January 31st, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Two St. Johns County communities — St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach — were featured in recent media lists of the best places to live.

St. Augustine was chosen as the overall best city in Florida to live in by Money and Ponte Vedra was chosen as one of the 20 Best Places to Live on the Coast in 2018 by Coastal Living.

Money gave St. Augustine high marks for economic growth and its walkability.

Coastal Living noted Ponte Vedra’s proximity to the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve that “will connect you to this wild and crucial part of the coastal environment.”

Both communities have experienced significant growth in the last several decades, as reported in a story in the St. Augustine Record. St. Johns County’s population has grown from about 84,000 in 1990 to an estimated 235,000 in 2016.
