September 19th, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Have you ever attended a sustainability tour? If not, you won’t want to miss the Sustainable Neighborhood Tour this Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. hosted by Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida and the First Coast American Planning Association (APA).

The tour will showcase local examples of successful sustainable neighborhoods and how those lessons can be applied to help downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods reach their full potential. The bus tour will begin at Intuition Ale Works on King Street in Riverside. Stops on the tour include the CORK Building Site, 1661 at 5 Points in Riverside, and a proposed mixed-use site in Brooklyn at Main and State streets, which is a potential gateway and catalyst for downtown, Springfield and the La Villa area.

Happy hour will be held at Intuition Ale Works following the tour with guest speakers Bill Killingsworth from the City of Jacksonville Planning Department and Brad Thoburn with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.

The cost to attend the tour is $25 per person and you can register online at www.northflorida.uli.org. We hope to see you there!
