JAX Chamber Joins First Wednesday Art Walk

October 31st, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Get ready to put on your walking shoes for one of our favorite events. The next First Wednesday Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. this Wednesday, Nov. 2, and, for the first time, the JAX Chamber will join the festivities as an official stop.

The Chamber, located at 3 Independent Drive, partnered with Jen Jones Art Consulting to exhibit the work of international artist Richard Riverin. The Chamber will also showcase the art of architecture featuring architects from Halback Design Group and Content Design Group. Here is what JAX Chamber Vice President Anna Valent said about joining the art walk.

“The Chamber headquarters serves as Downtown’s Front Door, and it is only fitting that we participate in this important and vibrant community event that has played a significant role in revitalizing Downtown Jacksonville.”

Riverin, an award-winning painter, chemist and noteworthy science fiction author, will showcase his original paintings at the Chamber. Lauren Fincham, a new Chamber member and award-winning folk songstress who has played alongside John Mayer, The 10,000 Maniacs and Gamble Rogers among others, will be the featured live musical guest.

Fellow Chamber member, Bold City Brewery, is contributing hand-crafted, locally made beer to the event. Pollo Tropical and Davoli’s Specialty Food and Catering Inc. will provide food for the stop.

The Chamber is offering free parking during the art walk. More information about the First Wednesday Art Walk is available here.  We hope to see you there!
