NAIOP of Northeast Florida, the region’s commercial real estate authority and trade association, will host a luncheon featuring guest speaker Nikolai P. Vitti, Ed.D., superintendent of Duval County Public Schools (DCPS), at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville – Riverfront on Feb. 6.

Dr. Vitti will discuss his goals of improving the school district from good to great by increasing the achievement levels of all students, streamlining the efficiency of business and operations, and strengthening parent and community involvement. The program is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend to learn more about the future of public schools in Duval County.

“Public education is a critical component of a thriving community and impacts the success and growth of its businesses and industries, including commercial real estate,” said NAIOP of Northeast Florida President Traci Jenks. “Our members are interested to hear Dr. Vitti’s plans and timeline for improving public education in Duval County, and we welcome all interested individuals to attend as well.”

Prior to being named Superintendent of DCPS, Dr. Vitti was the chief academic officer of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the fourth-largest school district in the country. As the chief academic officer, he led 70 traditionally lower-performing schools in the county. He holds a doctorate of education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Registration and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. The program will conclude by 1:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $25 for NAIOP members and $40 for non-members. Registration can be completed by calling (904) 730-8075 or registering online at www.naiopnefl.com.
