Save the Date for the World Day of Remembrance

October 7th, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Sponsored by the First Coast Section of the American Planning Association (APA) and in collaboration with the City of Jacksonville Transportation Planning Division and the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization, Bike Walk Jax (formerly BPAC) will be hosting an event for the World Day of Remembrance (WDoR) for Road Traffic Victims on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Artist Square Park in Riverside.

The WDoR remembers the many millions who have been killed and seriously injured on the world’s roads, acknowledges the suffering of all those affected, and gives a voice to victims and their families. In Jacksonville alone, 100 people have been killed in traffic crashes already this year. Bike Walk Jax is honored to host this event to illustrate how road-related fatalities have impacted Jacksonville’s many diverse communities, creating a health crisis that must be addressed. This event will also provide those working in road safety an opportunity to showcase current initiatives and efforts being made to address this important issue. Bike Walk Jax (BWJ) is looking for volunteers to assist with the event. Contact Lauren Rushing at [email protected].
