The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) and the NEFBA Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) welcomed a new board of directors and officers at an induction ceremony and breakfast held at the University of North Florida University Center today. During the event, the new 2012 board members were inducted and six awards were presented to local industry leaders.

The 7th annual SMC holiday auction, held during the monthly NEFBA/SMC breakfast program, featured auctioneer Bill Elrod auctioning a wide range of items contributed by members. A portion of the auction proceeds will benefit the children and youth at Daniel, a multi-service agency that assists children, adolescents and families. During the event, individual members and companies dropped off gifts for Daniel’s Christmas Wish List Collection so that every child has gifts to open this holiday. Guests attending the event also donated teddy bears to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The annual networking event is held to thank elected officials from Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties for their service to our community and to introduce them to members of the Northeast Florida building industry.

Michael Bourré, 2011 president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) and local construction company Bourré Construction Group, is busy helping to launch an overseas mission trip. This is an opportunity for NEFBA members to visit a foreign country and work on a special project by providing volunteer building services to a deserving group or organization.

This year’s project will involve NEFBA purchasing two distressed homes from the City of Jacksonville to remodel and put back on the market.
