ICI Homes of Tamaya, developers of a master-planned community between Downtown and the Beaches, and the Jacksonville Symphony Guild will host Jacksonville Symphony Appreciation Weekend on May 30 and June 1.

On Friday, May 30, Tamaya and the Symphony Guild will welcome guests beginning at 6 p.m. for an elegant Piano Wine & Dine at Tamaya, where people will enjoy the cuisine of former White House chef Brett Harris. There will also be a selection of fine wines presented by Jessica Vaughn from PRP Wine International and a piano presentation by Scott Watkins, a professor at Jacksonville University.

Donations are $125 per person and will benefit the Symphony Guild. RSVPs will be taken through May 23 by calling (386) 236-2290.

On Sunday, June 1, representatives of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will visit Tamaya, located off Beach Boulevard halfway between Kernan and Hodges Boulevard, for a Symphony Appreciation Family Day that includes food, music, kid’s activities and the chance to tour model homes at Tamaya.

The model park at 13001 Pechora Court in Jacksonville will be open from noon to 6 p.m. and performances by two symphony ensembles will take place at 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Ellen Olson, viola, and Eric Olson, oboe, will perform at 12:30 p.m. and Peter Wright, clarinet, Les Roettges, flutist, and Anthony Anurca, bassoon, will play at 4 p.m. There will also be an area for children to play musical instruments, courtesy of the Symphony Guild’s Instrument Zoo, which will be open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
