ULI North Florida Hosts June 8 Infrastructure Program “Rethinking Transportation Investments”

Metro and regional transportation will be on the agenda at the June 8 Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida presentation titled, “Infrastructure 2011: A Strategic Priority.” The program is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the University of North Florida’s University Center.

The featured speaker for the program will be U.S. Representative John Mica, who will discuss the future of federal transportation funding and how state and local governments may be impacted. ULI Senior Resident Fellow Ed McMahon will present Infrastructure 2011, an annual ULI report that spotlights transportation efforts in major U.S. metro areas.

The program will also include a panel discussion, moderated by Michael Cavendish, the chair of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and Regional Transportation Study Commission. Other panel members are Walter Humann of Dallas, who is representing the Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Joe Giulietti, executive director of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.

The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. with registration and networking, followed by the program and panel discussion from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. A social hour will follow the program from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The cost of the program is $35 for advance registration and $45 for on-site registration the day of the event.
