Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty is helping to make the holidays extra special for children in foster care.

The company’s Metro Offices of Avondale/Ortega and San Marco/San Jose supported Family Support Services of Duval and Nassau Counties’ annual Be an Angel holiday drive, an effort to make Christmas extra special for First Coast children in out-of-home care. Angels buy gifts from a child’s wish list or make a monetary donation so that the children receive Christmas presents they would not otherwise be able to enjoy this time of year.

For the third year, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Realtor Kimberly Waterhouse managed the real estate firm’s initiative. With the support of the Metro offices team, she collected and purchased gifts to make Christmas wishes come true for 50 children in foster care. Additionally, Waterhouse secured a generous $20,400 donation from the Gray Family Foundation that will help fulfill Christmas wishes for additional children served by Family Support Services.

“We are grateful for the ongoing support of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty and the Gray Family Foundation for Be an Angel and our community’s children in foster care,” said Leigh Ann Luttrell, Community Engagement Manager for Family Support Services Duval and Nassau Counties. “Through their generosity, we can support happier holidays for children who might not otherwise receive gifts this time of year. Be an Angel and other FSS programs just aren’t possible without committed partners like them.”

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty is among Family Support Services’ top donors supporting the Be an Angel campaign.

“We are so proud of our Metro team and their support of the Be an Angel initiative to ensure more children can have a gift under the tree this Christmas,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty President Ann King. “Our company is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of many local children and families, and we are grateful to be in business with such dedicated, talented and passionate professionals.”
